Nailing down an agency's brand

About this project

Having lived a former life as an exhibiting installation artist, I was tasked with building an installation for the Bates Creative office that encompassed their current campaign and brand. I decided to make a complex string 'B' of the Bates logo, building it to show the intricacy of the brand as well as the agency's ability to get beyond the screen into manual processes. I started with a diagram that became a map, dictating where the grid of nails would go. Starting with the B and working out to the other decorative elements of the composition, I spent 12 hours weaving string in and out of a nail grid. All told, the installation took 4000 yards of thread, evey bit worth it to bring a worthy concept to life.
